“Rejected at birth, bashed around by the nurses, left out on the porch during a storm to watch the lightening, and weaned overnight. Her mother meant well.”
In his new book, Willie Nelson wrote, “I see them (songs) as little stories that fall out of our lives and imaginations. If you over analyze, or torture yourself to bring them to life, something is wrong.”
I agree with Willie. Our stories should flow effortlessly from us: water from the well of life. We are our stories. Our stories make us unique. Everyone in the world has stories: stories of love, betrayal, desperation, celebration, birth, death, winning, losing, war, peace, health, hunger, survival, aging, frustration, embarrassments… The longer we live, the more stories we have. How often have you thought, “That reminds me of the time I…?” Or, “The same thing happened to me!” But, it wasn’t the same, similar maybe. Your stories are yours alone... a different spin, place, and people.
My individual coaching can take place on Skype or in person. Workshop locations will vary. Both are designed to dig into your well of sweet uniqueness and get your stories flowing. So chuck the written notes and get comfortable with YOUR story. In just a few classes you will develop a solid, well-crafted, 5-8 minute story people want to hear, that you can tell anywhere: the Moth, story venues, parties, aniversaries, weddings, reunions, or even publish.
Workshop prices are flexible, based on the number of folks in a class, (max of 10). A basic package is 1 two hour class per week for four weeks at $295.00. Individual coaching to prepare for speeches, or special events can be booked at $60.00 per hour or a block of 4 for 200.00. All classes are paid in full at the beginning of the first class. Start now. Times a wastin.' Email me to begin telling your stories.
Ruby's got stories! And having done stand up comedy for years she has a very natural, and funny, way of telling them. Her honest tales of life as a writer, mother, teacher, and world traveler are extremely entertaining. Storytelling has allowed Ruby to combine all of her talents into one and it works very well. Hey, she won The Moth Grand Slam. I was there!

Ruby Cooper is a wonderful storyteller. She is engaging, funny, and heartfelt. It's not only a pleasure to watch her perform an art she clearly loves, but it's an additional thrill to see the pleasure she brings to her audiences.

Some things just come to this world in pairs:
Funny person / Ruby Cooper ‖ Interesting Stories / Ruby Cooper (could also be "story teller” = Ruby Cooper)
Engaging personality / Ruby Cooper ‖ Creativity explosion / Ruby Cooper
Let’s just say that I’d go to anything she was involved with when it comes to her being on stage and performing… I’d pay good money for it and if I didn’t have good money, I’d borrow some… She’s the real deal.
